How Many Big Bangs Fit on the Tip of a Needle

Regarding the Big Bang, why do most physicists find it easy to believe that the entire universe can fit into a space smaller than a pinpoint yet have trouble with the concept that a dozen angels can dance on the head of the same pin? Is it because angels are too big?
